The story begins with a phone conversation between two co workers Arjit and Ashok as they discuss the arrival of their employer Kris who is flying down to Kolkata in some days, as this contract means a lot to his company. The book deals with the life of a woman protagonist who is an escort and hardships of her life. The story brings out some ugly truths of the society which most of us are aware of .

The cover of the book is beautiful and reminded me of masquerade party. The title is appropriate for the plot and creates a curiousity about the book. The lucid language and easy words makes it a comfortable read. The author has a very unique style of storytelling that effortlessly weaves together millennia, characters and situations wonderfully. I really liked the way the author has portrayed the characters. Name of the characters mentioned in the book are- Arijit Chatterjee, Ashok, Mr. Krishnamurthy aka Kris, Mr. Sarkar, Oindrila, Ayush.

This story is one of the best short stories that one might come across, having an unexpected twist and leaving the reader in shock.  A twist at the end of the book is the main attraction of the book and leaves the readers spellbounded. The story very well depicts the human nature, the true self in our own eyes. I would recommend this short story to you all. Do give it a read.
